Mayor Jim Janney abstained from voting because of a potential conflict of interest. Congratulations....you will now pay a higher trash bill. If I.B. is so financially sound, why do they have to raise user fees and now the trash bills?
Councilman Hasn't Lost Sense Of Humor Yet !

I was out at Pier Plaza last year at Steve Futterman's Film Festival and found myself talking with both Steve Futterman and Councilman Jim King.
I said, "Nobody will believe this!" and tried to take a couple of photos at arms length. This is the photo I found later on my camera!
Whether or not I agree or disagree with Jim King, he is a gentleman who has not lost his sense of humor and I appreciate that.

City Raising Sewer Fees Not A Tax? That's A Bunch Of Crap And I Know My Shit !
Submitted by Anonymous on Tue, 2010-03-30 07:55.
With the City and RDA running dangerously low on funds, Staff came up with the idea of raising sewer fees since they can't legally increase taxes without putting it on the ballot. Keeping it secret helps keep the residents quiet and in the dark. Imperial Beach's resident expert on sewers has a lot to say about this.

The dumbing-down also hurts the media because fewer and fewer people are reading or even getting news electronically. Only blogs and the Internet are growing. Best, Don Bauder

Submitted by Anonymous on Thu, 2010-01-21 10:44.Tuesday morning the San Diego Arizona & Eastern Railway board met to consider the Port / Chula Vista's request to pave over the intersection of H Street and The Coronado Belt Line Railroad in Chula Vista and remove or bury the rails. Coronado Belt Line Preservationist and Advocate Ed Kravitz (that's me) addressed the Board and cautioned them against any more destructive or overt acts to sever the linear resource in any way that would prevent it's future use to bring tourist or commuters to and from Imperial Beach. The Board voted to allow the Port to pave
